Summary: In 1977 a live television broadcast goes horribly wrong, unleashing evil into the nation's living rooms.
Plot Twist?
As it turns out, the teen girl really is possessed, and the evil she's harboring has come to make good on the Faustian pact Jack made with the forces of darkness — to grant him the fame he was promised for sacrificing his beloved wife to cancer.
Ending:
Madeleine's ghost begs Jack to put her out of her misery, as the cancer is causing pain. Using the ritual Athame dagger from Lilly's former Satanic cult, he then stabs her to death; and the scene suddenly shifts to the now-empty studio. A horrified Jack realizes he has stabbed and killed Lilly on live television.
Notes - Thoughts
I thought the effects with flipping between black & white to color like tv screen in the 70's gave eary campy vibe but still suspenseful and creepy. The storyline was pretty simple and common when comes to make "deals with the devil"
