Summary: New York college student Justine, a lawyer's daughter, meets a student activist named Alejandro when he goes on a hunger strike on behalf of underpaid janitors. Smitten, Justine agrees to help Alejandro undertake his next project: to save the Amazon. She soon learns to regret her decision when their plane crashes in the Peruvian jungle and she and the rest of their group are taken captive by a tribe of hungry cannibals.
Plot Twist?
The tribe feed the prisoners strange meat. Being a vegan, Amy reluctantly eats, only to discover a chunk of skin in her bowl bearing one of Samantha's tattoos. Realizing they were fed Samantha's remains, Amy breaks the bowl and uses a shard to commit suicide.
Ending:
JShe survives, makes it on to the podcast and LIES!! tells them everything she needs to get further in her career but betrayed everyone she just left behind and struggled through. In a post-credits scene, Alejandro's sister Lucia contacts Justine to inform her of a satellite photo which shows Alejandro still alive in the jungle, wearing black tribal paint!!
Notes - Thoughts
This was creepy and unsettling! The tribe is not to be messed with, played with, don't even go near them. Acting was top tier and felt like was truly going on. Very gory and bloody for some scenes. There are instances out there were actually going on to this day and we barely even know full depth of it.
