Unbeknownst to the girls, the doll Annabelle harbors a dark, evil force that soon begins terrorizing them.
Plot Twist (Spoiler Alert)
The dark force attached to the doll is revealed to be a demonic entity seeking to possess one of the girls to regain a physical body. The Mullins family’s tragic past, including a terrible accident and their involvement with occult rituals, becomes key to understanding the malevolence behind Annabelle. They gave the entity premission to move into the doll thinking it was their daughter presence, only to find out much much darker entity.
Remember from the first one, we discussed the crazy lady breaking into house going after the doll was lot more connected then realize. Here it is right at the end, she was the one from the beginning that got attached - went through hell - got out - adopted and grew up to then be in cult and come back for annabelle right next door to her parents house.
Connection to the Real Annabelle Doll and Conjuring Universe
The film is a fictionalized origin story that expands on the mythology behind the Annabelle doll.
While based on the Warrens’ real investigations of the possessed Raggedy Ann doll, Creation takes creative liberties to provide a backstory that wasn’t part of the actual case.
It deepens the lore of the Conjuring universe, tying the doll’s origins to dark rituals and tragic family history.
The film bridges the events leading into the original Annabelle movie and connects to the larger Warrens’ storyline.
Rating - Loved!!
An atmospheric and effective prequel that enriches the Annabelle lore with strong performances and gothic horror vibes. The jumpscares were top tier, storyline was very interesting to tie together.
